
Turkish gov’t donates playground to Tagaytay City school
TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite – The newly-constructed playground donated by the Turkish government on Monday was formally opened to the students of Tagaytay City Central Elementary School in Bgy. Sungay West, this city.
Turkish Ambassador Niyazi Evren Akyol, Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambo” Tolentino, and Ibrahim Katirci, Country Director of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Manila Program Coordination Office, led the turnover ceremony, together with officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) Tagaytay City.
“This act of generosity exemplifies the strong friendship between Turkey and Tagaytay and will provide our students with a safe and enriching space to play and grow. Thank you Turkish government for investing in the future of our children,” Mayor Tolentino said in his speech during the program.
Dr. Edeliza Catacutan, public school district supervisor of Tagaytay City also expressed her gratitude to the Turkish government.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations of the playground and 36 whiteboards,” Catacutan said.
“Your contribution has brought joy and excitement to our school and students, providing children with a safe and fun space to play. The whiteboard will enhance the teachers ability to teach and engage students in a more dynamic and interactive way. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated, and we are deeply thankful for your commitment to enhancing the lives of others,” she added.
TIKA also gave school bags and supplies to the students of the school.
