IN a series of nationwide consultations conducted by the country’s largest group of organized workers the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), rank-and-file workers in all industries have chosen the Uniteam tandem of presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos and his running mate vice presidential candidate Sara ‘Inday’ Duterte-Carpio as the country’s next leaders who will lead the country out of the pandemic crises.

Meanwhile, TUCP President and TUCP Partylist Rep. Raymond Mendoza announced the labor center will conduct a formal endorsement of Marcos and Duterte-Carpio within the week along with a list of senatorial candidates the group have chosen to support.

TUCP Spokesperson Alan Tanjusay said the choice was a majority decision from workers working in major industries such as service, agriculture and manufacturing sectors located in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in a series of online and hybrid face to face and combined caucuses which began late last year and lasted last week.

“The vote advantage of Mr. Marcos and Ms. Duterte-Carpio and with those four other pair of presidential and vice-presidential aspirants was very wide. It was an overwhelmingly majority decision in all caucuses held differently in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” said Tanjusay.

The union members were made to chose between aspirants Marcos and Duterte-Carpio, Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan, Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Panfilo Lacson and Tito Sotto, and Manny Pacquiao and Lito Atienza, he said.
