Trike driver shot dead during drinking session
ZARAGOSA, Nueva Ecija – A tricycle (trike) driver having a drinking session with his friends was shot dead by a lone gunman for still unknown reasons on Thursday night, police reported.
The slain victim was identified as Nelson Esguerra, 40, of Bgy. Del Pilar, this town.
The gun attack transpired in Purok Balintawak, Bgy. Del Pilar at 10:30 p.m.
Investigation showed the victim was with his friends drinking liquor when the unidentified suspect arrived and suddenly fired at the victim, who was declared “dead on arrival” after being rushed for emergency treatment at the nearby La Paz Medicare Community Hospital.
Witnesses described the suspect as wearing a bull cap, facemask, and black t-shirt.
Police recovered three fired cartridges and a spent bullet for cal. 45 at the crime scene.
Investigators are continuing their investigation regarding the motive for the shooting.
