Trike driver killed in Batangas road mishap

A 52-YEAR-OLD driver died after the tricycle he was driving accidentally collided with a cargo truck while traveling along the National Road of Bgy. Tinga Labac, in Batangas City, the other day.

Batangas City Police case investigators PSSg. Richard Morada and PCpl. Jeffrey Amada identified the fatality as Wilfredo Salazar, married, a resident of Bgy. Tinga, this city.

Initial investigations showed that on or about 9:30 p.m., the Isuzu cargo truck being driven by Anthony Quejada, 35, married, of Bgy. Tanagan, Calatagan town was heading towards Bgy. Tinga Itaas, when it accidentally collided with the oncoming Kawasaki Barako tricycle, driven by Salazar.

Police learned that the tricycle driver was headed towards Bgy. Balagtas, Batangas City.

Salazar sustained injuries in the body was brought by the locals to Batangas Medical Center for immediate treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Mona L. Geronimo.

No report if the truck driver is harmed.

Batangas City Police are continuing their investigation.
