Tricycle driver arrested, cohort hunted for holdup

MANILA Police District (MPD) operatives nabbed a tricycle driver and are hunting his supposed cohort for allegedly holding up two students in Sta. Ana, Manila.

Now under the custody of MPD-Station 6 is Heinrich Leyva, 24, of 2252 Medel St., Sta. Ana, Manila.

The police are hunting down his alleged cohort identified as alias Harriet.

The suspect was nabbed on the complaint of students Hazel Joy Dela Peña, 21, of Pagkakaisa Street, Barangay Kasilawan, Makati City and Martin Blanco, 22, of 2528 Callejon 1 St. Sta. Ana, Manila.

The victims said they were waiting for a tricycle ride when the holdup occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Callejon 1, Sta. Ana, Manila.

The backrider in the motorcycle reportedly got off and held up the victims at knifepoint, went back to the motorcycle and the two sped off toward an unknown direction.

The victims were able to remember the faces of the suspects who were arrested during a follow-up operation in the area.

Robbery (with intimidation) charges were filed against the suspects before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
