CALAMBA CITY, Cavite – Sol Y Viento Hotel and Resort in Makiling Heights formally launched “Project: Angels of Hope,” Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the poolside grounds.

Dr. Consuelo C. Reyes, executive director of Dalta Jonelta Foundation Inc. (DJFi), led the program and presented the “Tree of Hope,” which is a 20-foot high Christmas tree adorned with garlands and empty sockets – meant to be filled up with lots of bulbs, bringing “life and hopes” to sick children with cancer.

Project: Angels of Hope, through Sol Y’ Viento Mountain Resort here and Alta D’ Tagaytay Hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite, aims to assist children with cancer and their families and the much-needed financial assistance in alleviating the pain and caring for the kids.

According to Dr. Reyes, hundreds of guests, including Marianito Tamayo and Edna Tamayo, of the Jonelta Corporation purchased the bulbs on-site at the tree lighting ceremony, costing only P300 each, with 1,200 sockets reserved to fill it.

The hotel will request room guests for P50 upon check out, restaurant guests for P20, and banquet guests P5 per guest. Bernardo Corpuz Jr., the managing consultant of both Sol Y’ Viento Mountain Resort and Alta D’ Tagaytay Hotel, said in an interview.

The proceeds will be directly remitted to partner institution DJFi, according to Corpuz, during the program.

Dr. Reyes, director of DJFi, was grateful for all those who supported the Angels of Hope project for patients with cancer.

“I hope through the DJFi, this project will not end so that we can extend the lives of children with cancer,” Dr. Reyes said.

As part of their corporate social responsibilities (CSR), it aims to improve their outlook on life by giving them hope and enhancing their social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.

Sol Y’ Viento Mountain Resort and Alta D’ Tagaytay are now placing donation boxes at the banquet for guests or individuals willing to be part of their noble mission this holiday season.
