TRABAHO Partylist spokesperson Atty. Mitchell-David L. Espiritu lauded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s order to release a higher Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for public school teachers and other government employees.

Signed under Administrative Order (AO) No. 27, the incentive will provide a one-time cash reward to government employees to recognize their commitment and dedication to public service.

The Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman noted the increase is a massive boost for morale and underscores the administration’s commitment to uplifting the lives of government workers.

Atty. Espiritu noted their group supports the directive of President Marcos to both the DBM and the Department of Education (DepEd) to increase the SRI of an estimated 1,011,800 DepEd personnel from the current P18,000 to P20,000.

TRABAHO Partylist previously called for higher salaries, additional benefits, and training for teachers. Atty. Espiritu emphasized the need to take care of the well-being and quality of life of public school teachers, as they play a critical role in strengthening and molding the next generation of workers.

Public school teachers will benefit from programs for career advancement and professional growth, added Atty. Espiritu. TRABAHO Partylist will advocate for policies that will prioritize teachers to maintain a highly-skilled and motivated workforce.

Budget should also be allocated for upskilling and retooling through training sessions, workshops, and continuing education programs, noted Atty. Espiritu. These benefits will enable teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge to better fulfill their duties to their students, he added.
