TRABAHO Partylist has expressed strong support for the government’s plan to promote alternative work arrangements (AWAs) in 2025, as announced by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The move, which aims to adapt to the evolving needs of both businesses and workers, comes amid the continued integration of remote and hybrid work setups in the post-pandemic era.

The Partylist’s spokesperson Atty. Mitchell-David L. Espiritu commended the government’s initiative to establish flexible work policies that will better accommodate the diverse work environments in the country. The proposal is seen as a step toward creating more inclusive and sustainable work conditions that benefit both employers and employees, particularly in a rapidly changing global economy.

Atty. Espiritu highlighted that flexible work arrangements, such as remote work, compressed workweeks, and flexible hours, would contribute to improved work-life balance, especially for workers with caregiving responsibilities or those facing transportation challenges. The party also believes that these arrangements can boost productivity and employee morale, helping companies attract and retain talent.

The proposed push for flexible work setups aligns with NEDA’s National Evaluation Portal report, which showed that many workers and employers are in favor of continuing remote and hybrid work options that were implemented during the pandemic. This shift in work culture is also seen as an opportunity to address the growing concerns about traffic congestion, environmental impact, and urbanization.

Atty. Espiritu added that TRABAHO Partylist will work closely with other lawmakers and stakeholders to ensure that labor laws are updated and that workers are protected as they transition to these new work arrangements. “We are committed to ensuring that the rights of workers are upheld, and that this shift towards more flexible setups is inclusive, fair, and beneficial for all.”
