TRABAHO backs job opportunities for students, OSY
TRABAHO Partylist has expressed its full support for the creation of 550 job opportunities for students and out-of-school youth in Ilocos Norte.
The initiative is part of a larger effort to provide accessible employment options to the youth, offering them practical experience and a chance to support their education or personal development.
This comes as a vital step in addressing the employment needs of young Filipinos, especially those who are currently marginalized or lacking formal education pathways.
The job openings are available through a collaboration between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the provincial government. The positions span various sectors, providing vital work experience that will aid in their future career development.
TRABAHO Partylist, which has long advocated for sustainable and decent jobs for Filipinos, underscores the importance of programs like this in helping bridge the gap for youth who may otherwise struggle to find stable work.
TRABAHO Partylist spokesperson Atty. Mitchell-David L. Espiritu said this program aligns with their platform of ensuring that all Filipinos, especially the youth, have access to meaningful employment opportunities that provide not only income but also the potential for long-term career growth.
In line with its commitment to sustainable employment, TRABAHO Partylist is also focused on forming strategic partnerships with private sector companies to further expand job opportunities across the country.
By encouraging businesses to participate in employment programs, they aim to create more inclusive job markets that can absorb a larger number of workers, particularly those in underserved communities, said Atty. Espiritu. He added these collaborations will help create a diverse range of jobs that meet the needs of the youth while also boosting local economies.
Furthermore, TRABAHO Partylist has proposed rolling out similar job creation programs to more provinces across the country, emphasizing the need for a nationwide effort to tackle youth unemployment.
The partylist believes that by expanding these programs beyond Ilocos Norte, they can provide more young Filipinos with access to valuable work experience, paving the way for a more inclusive and resilient workforce. This initiative will not only address the immediate job needs of students and out-of-school youth but also contribute to long-term economic growth in various regions.
Atty. Espiritu emphasized their goal to push for policies that support both formal and informal sectors, ensuring that all workers, regardless of background, have access to decent wages, job security, and safe working conditions.
