Trabaho has expressed strong support for the government’s ongoing transport projects, which aim to improve the daily commute of millions of Filipinos.

In line with its core advocacy of ensuring economic and social advancement for the working class, Trabaho believes that enhanced public transportation will create better employment opportunities and uplift workers’ quality of life.

The transport projects, detailed in a Malacañang press briefing, highlight the administration’s commitment to expanding and modernizing the country’s transport system, ensuring efficiency, affordability, and accessibility. Trabaho lauds these efforts, recognizing their significant impact on employment and economic activity.

As part of its mission to promote dignified and sustainable employment, Trabaho emphasizes that improved transport infrastructure directly benefits workers. “Efficient and affordable transportation is crucial to employment accessibility. Many workers struggle with long, expensive commutes, which reduces their productivity and limits their job choices. These projects will address that,” Trabaho spokesperson Atty. Mitchell-David L. Espiritu stated.

The partylist has long advocated for policies that uplift the working class, including fair wages, better working conditions, and stronger labor protections. By supporting government initiatives that reduce daily commuting hardships, Trabaho aligns with its pledge to eliminate “in-work poverty”, a situation where laborers struggle to meet basic needs despite being employed.

Trabaho also sees the government’s transport projects as a vehicle for job creation. With major infrastructure projects requiring skilled and unskilled labor, thousands of Filipinos are expected to find employment opportunities in construction, maintenance, and transport services.

Beyond job generation, Trabaho ensures that transport improvements will benefit all sectors of society. The partylist advocates for equal access to employment and economic opportunities, including safe and inclusive transport for persons with disabilities (PWDs), women, and marginalized communities.

“A modernized transport system should not only be efficient but also inclusive. We will work to ensure that policies protect the rights and welfare of all commuters,” Atty. Espiritu added.
