A LOCAL government employee-turned top drug trafficking personality in Bicol region on Sunday was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Basud, Camarines Norte.
Suspect Michael Angelo Ng, a 35-year-old regular employee of the Daet Municipal Hall yielded 11 heat -sealed plastic sachets containing some P5,000 worth of shabu and the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill during the sting conducted by the local police around 2:50 p.m. last Sunday.
Police Regional Office 5 director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo said members of the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office and the Basud Municipal Police Station under Col. Julius Guadamor arrested the suspect during the entrapment operation in Purok 1, Bgy. Matnog in Basud municipality.
The official said that the suspect has been tagged as a “high-value individual” since Ng is a local government employee who has been long under the radar of local police authorities for his reported involvement in drug trafficking in his neighborhood.
The suspect is being held at the Balud police lock-up facility facing charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
