Torre, De Leon join Sports on Air

IT will be another blockbuster Thursday as Asia’s first grandmaster Eugene Torre and Philippine Racing Commission chairman Reli de Leon take center stage in the 42nd episode of “Sports on Air” via Zoom.

Torre will share his success with his Filipino fans after he was formally inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame in St. Louis, Missouri early this month.

The 70-year-old Filipino chess legend was accompanied by his wife Maria Lina and Philippine-born American GM Wesley So in the induction ceremony.

De Leon, on the other hand, will talk about the busy schedule of races lined up by PHILRACOM from October to December.

He will also discuss the much-awaited Philippine Horseracing and Breeding Expo on Oct.14-16 at the Manila Jockey Club in Carmona, Cavite.

Joining them in the two-part program starting at 10 a.m. are Southeast Asia Cup powerlifting gold medalists Angelica Savillo, Ross Teodosio and Tin Alejandro and Pinoy Youth Dreamers coaches Alfred Kyle Ysibido, Hamilton Tundag and Lucky Ecarma.

Savillo, Teodosio and Alejandro will discuss their gold medal-winning performances in the recent Southeast Asia Cup in Malaysia where the Filipino powerlifting team captured a total of 78 medals.

PYD coaches Ysibido, Tundag and Ecarma will talk about the coming youth basketball tournament in Singapore.

This will be the 42nd episode of “Sports On Air”, the hottest and most comprehensive sports talk show on air.
