AMERICAN (of Italian descent)legendary singer and hitmaker Tony Bennett (Anthony Dominick Benedetto) passed on at age 96 sa kanyang tahanan in New York City last Friday, July 21, 2023.

The Italian-American crooner was behind a string of classic hit songs tulad ng “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” “The Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” “La Vie en Rose,” “The Good Life,” “Rags to Riches,” “It Had To Be You,” “The Shadow of Your Smile,” “For Once In My Life” (a duet with Stevie Wonder), “I Wanna Be Around,” “Who Can I Turn,” “Steppin’ Out,” “God Bless the Child,” “Love For Sale” (with Lady Gaga),” “Cheek to Cheek” (with Lady Gaga), “How Do You Keep the Music Playing” (with Christina Aguilera), classic Christmas songs like “The Christmas Song,” “Silver Bells,” “White Christmas,” “Christmas Time is Here,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Santa Claus is Coming To Town,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland” at marami pang iba.

Ang mga awiting pinasikat ni Tony ay mananatili sa puso’t isipan ng mga tao at magpapatuloy sa iba’t ibang henerasyon. He only retired from performing in 2021 when he was 94. Kahit retired na siya, he would continue singing and rehearsing with his music director at least thrice a week.

Tony,got married thrice and got divorced sa dalawang nauna niyang wives na sina Patricia Beech and Sandra Grant habang kanyang huling wife ay si Susan Crow whom he married in 2007. He had four children at kasama na rito si Danny who was his last manager.

Si Tony ay isinilang nung August 3, 1926 sa St. John’s Hospital in Long Island City, Queens in New York at bunso sa tatlong magkakapatid. He was ten when his father died kaya napilitan siyang maghanap-buhay at an early age para makatulong sa kanilang pamilya.

At 13, he was already singing and earning some money for his family and would take odd jobs tulad ng pagiging waiter, messenger at iba pang trabaho na mababa lamang ang suweldo.

Even at a young age ay singing na talaga ang passion ni Tony.

Nag-aral siya ng music and painting sa New York School of Industrial Arts pero at age 16 ay tumigil siya sa kanyang pag-aaral para magtrabaho to support his family. He was a copy boy at runner para sa Associated Press in Manhattan, New York at gumawa siya ng paraan para makakanta sa iba’t ibang lugar at nightclubs for an extra income.

During the final stage ng World War II, he was drafted in the U.S. Army at pagkatapos nito ay nag-concentrate na siya sa kanyang pagiging singer. In 1951, his first recorded his first hit song na pinamagatang “Because of You” ang naging simula ng pag-arangkada ng kanyang singing career bilang recording artist. Ito’y sinundan ng “Rags to Riches” in 1953. Pero ang maituturing niyang signature hit song ay ang awiting “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” which was released nung 1962 na siyang naghatid sa kanya ng kanyang first Grammy Award bilang Song of the Year at Best Male Solo Vocal Performance na nasundan pa ng 18 more Grammy awards in his entire singing career bukod pa sa iba’t ibang award-giving bodies.

Tony sold over 50 million copies of his records sa buong mundo. His music influences include Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Judy Garland at Bing Crosby as well as jazz artitsts tulad nina Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden at Joe Venutti.

His farewell concerts happened on August 3 & 5, 2021 kasama si Lady Gaga at the Radio City Music Hall in New York. He also had a TV special na pimagatang “One Last Time: An Evening with Tonny Bennett and Lady Gaga” which was shown on CBS on November 28, 2021. His first televised performance was also with Lady Gaga nung December 16, 2021.

In 1956, he had his own TV show, ang “The Tonny Bennett Show” bilang kapalit ng “The Perry Como Show”.

Before his death, si Tony lamang ang kaisa-isang singer-performer who was still performing up to age 95.

Tony’s classic hit songs will remain sa puso’t isipan ng mga tao kahit ilang siglo pa ang dumaan.

SASABAK na rin sa paggawa ng teleserye sa Kapuso Network ang singer, actor, host at entrepreneur na si Matteo Guidicelli. He co stars with Ruru Madrid sa action series ng GMA Public Affairs, ang “Black Rider” where he will play the role of a policeman na si Paeng, ang kababata ng delivery rider na si Elias (Ruru).

Ito’y pinamamahalaan ni Monti Parungao.

Excited ang mister ng Pop superstar na si Sarah Geronimo sa kanyang kauna-unahang action TV series na first time din niyang gagawin sa GMA.

Si Matteo ay huling napanood sa “Bagani” in 2018 na tinampukan nina Liza Soberano at Enrique Gil sa bakuran ng ABS-CBN.

Although sumailalim si Matteo sa martial arts training in preparation ng kanyang role sa “Black Rider,” magagamit din niya ang kanyang actual training sa ilalim ng 1st Scout Ranger Regiment at The Presidential Security Group,

Si Matteo ay reservist sa Philippine Army. He is 2nd Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Samantala, maraming fans ng mag-asawang Sarah at Matteo ang naghihintay kung kelan sila magkakaroon ng sarili nilang supling.

SA kabila ng paghihiwalay nina Carlo Aquino at non-showbiz ex-girlfriend nitong si Trina Candaza, they are co-parenting their almost three-year-old daughter na si Enola Mithi who will celebrate her 3rd birthday sa darating na September 8. Katunayan, magkasama pa sina Carlo at Trina nang i-celebrate ang second birthday ng kanilang anak.

Carlo (38) turning 39 on September 3 is in a relationship with Kapamilya star Charlie Dizon (27). Ang dalawa ay unang nagkakilala nung 2020 nang sila’y magkasama sa primetime TV series na “A Soldier’s Heart” ng ABS-CBN pero sila’y nagkalapit sa Kapamilya US tour nung isang taon at sa kanilang pagbabalik sa Pilipinas ay naging visible na ang dalawa sa mga lakaran hanggang maging sila.

Carlo’s first showbiz girlfriend ay si Angelica Panganiban who is now engaged sa kanyang non-showbiz fiancé na si Gregg Homan at may isa na ring anak ang dalawa na si Amila Sabine who will turn one this September 20.

Sina Carlo at Charlie ay magkasama sa isang upcoming movie ng Black Sheep Productions, ang “Third World Romance” na nakatakdang ipalabas sa mga sinehan sa darating na August 16.
