
TNT in fourth win
TNT Tropang Giga rode on Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s 42-point explosion to bring down Blackwater Bossing, 105-96, in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Hollis-Jefferson had 14-of-28 shooting, 12 rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 44 minutes of action for coach Jojo Lastimosa.
Jayson Castro had 18 points, and five assists while Calvin Oftana added 14 points and seven rebounds to help the Tropang Giga register their fourth win.
Glenn Khobuntin and Kib Montalbo chipped in with 10 points each
“I think the guys, they’ve been in this situation before, in the championship series (of last season’s Governors’ Cup). We know how to play back-to-back games. So, this is nothing new,” said Lastimosa.
Chris Ortiz led Blackwater’s losing effort with a double-double of 24 points, on 8-of-21 shooting, 19 rebounds and four assists in almost 40 minutes of play for coach Jeffrey Cariaso.
Rey Suerte contributed 13 points, and three rebounds, Troy Rosario added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
RK Ilagan and James Kwekuteye chipped in with 10 points each.
