Tingog Partylist delivers aid to 4,710 Leyteños

LEYTE — Karla Estrada represented the Offices of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez and Tingog Partylist Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Jude A. Acidre in delivering cash assistance to 4,710 constituents from October 1 and 2 in Leyte province.
As Tingog Partylist’s Director for Community Engagements, Estrada delivered various forms of assistance through the Departments of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) and of Labor and Employment’s (DoLE) Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).
The two-day activity distributed cash assistance to 1,000 beneficiaries each from Carigara and Palompon; 2,500 individuals from Tacloban, and 180 students who were enlisted to the Government Internship Program (GIP), while 30 beneficiaries received pedicabs under DOLE’s Livelihood Program.
Most beneficiaries consisted of barangay health care workers, students and those from the poorest communities in Leyte, among others.
Originating from Leyte, Tingog Partylist continues to fulfill its promise of providing better lives through quality public service not only to Region 8 but to everyone in the country, as seen in their Alagang Tingog Centers (ATC) strategically located in the different parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Reps. Romualdez and Acidre are expected to open more ATCs in the country before the year ends to bring the Marcos administration’s aid closer to the Filipinos.
