According to the NCRPO, it has launched a comprehensive security operation to guarantee the safety of participants, organizers and the public during the annual international major beauty pageant that advocates for environmental awareness, conservation and social responsibility.

NCRPO men have been deployed in different Miss Earth venues since last October 21. The security coverage which will last until Monday is aimed at protecting all official pageant activities, including city tours, pre-pageant events, and the grand coronation night on November 9 at Okada Manila in Parañaque City.

Miss Earth, an internationally recognized environmental advocacy pageant, returns to the Philippines with the theme “Heritage.” This year, the organizers aim to showcase the eco-tourism destinations of the host country while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of each contestant.

The event reinforces the Philippines’ commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural preservation, positioning the country as a safe and welcoming destination for global events.

The NCRPO’s heightened security measures and visible police presence ensure that participants and audiences can enjoy a safe experience, emphasizing the country’s dedication to hosting tourism-centered events responsibly, officials said.

A total of 1,397 NCRPO personnel have been deployed to secure the event. They include civil disturbance management personnel from the Manila and Southern Police Districts and the NCPRO Regional Mobile Force Battalion along with specialized untis for VIP convoy security.

Other personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Joint Task Force National Capital Region of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority are also involved in the security for the event.

The NCRPO encouraged the public to support the safety of Miss Earth 2024 by reporting suspicious activities via the PNP Law Enforcement Reporting Information System (LERIS) app. This tool facilitates real-time reporting, enhancing NCRPO’s situational awareness and rapid response to maintain security.
