AGENTS of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Thursday afternoon arrested ex-Negros Oriental Governor Pryde Henry Teves during a manhunt operation in Dumaguete City, PNP-CIDG director, Major General Leo M. Francisco said.

In a report to PNP chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the official said the 60-year-old elder brother of fugitive ex-Negros Oriental Representative Arnullfo ‘Arne’ Teves was arrested along Dr. Vicente Locsin Street in Barangay Taclobo in Dumaguete City around 6:15 a.m. Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Ocampo said members of the CIDG Negros Oriental Provincial Field Unit arrested the suspect who has been tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person in the province and the Regional Level No. 1 Most Wanted Person on the strength of a warrant for violation of the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012 issued by Judge Marlon Jay Moneva of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 74.

The court recommended a P200,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the accused who was immediately apprised of his constitutional rights before being taken to the local CIDG office for booking prior to his presentation to court.

The two Teveses were among the 14 persons tagged as terrorists by the Anti-Terrorism Council in teh aftermath of the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and nine others and the wounding of 14 others during an attack at the governor’s residence in Pamplona town on March 4, 2023.
