Tenants abandon P400K worth of ‘MJ’ in Silang apartment

SILANG, Cavite – After two weeks of not surfacing on the rented apartment unit of two tenants, the apartment owner decided to open the unit where they were staying and discovered four bags of marijuana (MJ) inside a backpack belonging to the now suspect tenants, December 15, 2022 in Barangay Kaong here.

In the statement of the apartment’s owner to the local police, the two “tenants” have not returned for more than two weeks, which made the owner “worried.”

The suspects rented the apartment unit on October 1, and the last time the two were seen was on November 24. After that, they did not “return home.”

In the report gathered at the office of Cavite Provincial Director Police Col. Christopher Olazo, the apartment owner reported to the Silang Police after discovering that he had four bags of marijuana placed in a backpack inside the unit occupied by the suspects.

The illegal drugs weigh about 4 kilos and are valued at P400,000, according to local police.

It was learned that before this, two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Cavite City on November 26 in Barangay 43 Cavite City, where they were also captured with 13 plastic sachets of marijuana.
