A 17-year-old male resident of Biñan City in Laguna was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) on Thursday afternoon for demanding sex from a fellow teener in exchange for not uploading and for deleting her nude photos on social media, PNP-ACG director, Brigadier General Robert T. Rodriguez said yesterday.

The suspect described only as a resident of Bgy. San Francisco in Biñan City was placed under arrest during an entrapment operation inside the Star Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City 3:45 p.m. Thursday, the official said.

Rodriguez said the sting was conducted following a complaint from the father of the 16-year-old girl from Bgy. San Nicolas in San Fernando City in Pampanga province.

It turned out that the suspect demanded sex from the victim or he will upload her nude photos in the internet. “We thought that the suspect was already an adult who asked the victim to meet him and have sex with the promise that he will delete her nude photos,” the PNP-ACG director said.

On Thursday afternoon, members of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 3 led by Major John Angelo Loretcha and Captain Franklin Lacana, with the assistance of the Muntinlupa City Police Station under Colonel Melecio Buslig Jr., were surprised when the teenager showed up at the place where he asked the victim to meet him.

The young suspect is now facing charges for grave coercion in relation to Republic Act (RA) 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, RA 9775 or the anti-child pornography law, RA 9262 or the violence against women and their children act, RA 7610 or the anti-child abuse law, and RA 9995 or the anti-photo and video voyeurism act of 2009, said the PNP-ACG.
