Teenager jailed for cybercrime

A TEENAGER accused of involvement in a cybercrime offense on Sunday was arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group in an entrapment operation in Daet, Camarines Norte.

The 17-year-old resident of Bgy. Magang in Daet was placed under arrest during a sting in nearby Bgy. 3 .

PNP-ACG director Brig. Gen. Robert Rodriguez said the arrest was triggered by a complaint from a fellow teenager.

Recovered from the accused was a mobile phone he used in threatening the complainant several times.

Rodriguez said the young suspect , who was placed under the custody of the Daet Municipal Social Welfare and Development, will be facing charges for grave threat under the Revised Penal Code in relation to Republic Act 10175 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
