Teen TikToker apologizes to Isko
MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno readily accepted the apology of a 17-year-old TikToker who earned the ire of countless netizens for badmouthing the mayor and claiming in his social media account that he had been doing nothing, among others.
The minor was accompanied by his guardian and a barangay official to the office of Col. Jhun Ibay, chief of the special mayor’s reaction team (SMART) in Manila City Hall, where he personally asked for forgiveness not only to the mayor but to Ibay and his guardian as well.
When interviewed, the boy admitted that he was under the influence of liquor and that he used a fake identity in his social media account.
He decided to appear at Ibay’s office after getting threats from angry netizens even as he also took down his post.
Ibay admonished him for dragging Ateneo in the issue by claiming that he studies there. He also asked the guardian to not allow her ward to drink liquor specially since he is a minor.
In a text message, Ibay said that he was already about to write the said university when the minor appeared in his office.
There, the boy claimed to be from the PUP although Ibay said he cannot ascertain its truth.
Moreno, in a text message, said that he learned of what happened and directed Ibay to just send the boy home without charges.
The boy’s guardian also apologized to the mayor and belied her ward’s post and tirades, saying she herself as a senior citizen had been getting the benefits due her from the city government like the monthly allowance and food boxes.
In his post, the boy raised his naughty finger and cussed repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Moreno said he and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna will be opening the city’s drive-thru vaccination center in Luneta where motorists can get their shots.
