FAR Eastern University goes for a seven-match sweep while University of the East shoots for joint lead as the U-Belt rivals clash at the close of their preliminary round assignments in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena today.

The Lady Tamaraws are not contented despite their perfect record heading to the 2 p.m. showdown with the Lady Warriors.

“Siguro maging consistent pa kami sa ginagawa namin. Nandoon yung kailangang trabahuin. Kitang-kita pa,” said interim coach Manolo Refugia after FEU gave away 29 points from errors in last Friday’s 25-23, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22 conquest of College of Saint Benilde.

Tin Ubaldo has been engaging so far for the Lady Tamaraws in the tournament which is what Refugia is looking for her.

“Ang role talaga ng setter kasi is siya yung equalizer. Malaking bagay sa kanya yung pagiging vocal,” Refugia said on Ubaldo.

UE, meanwhile, is looking forward to regain its winning form.

The Lady Blazers dealt the Lady Warriors their first loss of the season following a 23-25, 25-22, 29-27, 25-18 win last Sunday that dropped the Recto-based spikers to 5-1.

With Jelai Gajero sidelined due to a knee injury, Casiey Dongallo and Khy Cepada are taking care of the offensive load for UE.

Also-ran squads Mapua University and Enderun Colleges, meanwhile, collide at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the chase for the semis berths in the men’s side heats up as FEU takes on Emilio Aguinaldo College at 10 a.m. and National University collides with Ateneo at 12 noon.
