Taiwanese facing murder raps falls

A TAIWANESE national facing murder charges in his own homeland was nabbed by the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU).

In his report to BI Commissoner Jaime Morente, FSU chief Rendel Sy stated that the suspect, identified as Huang Kuan, 53, was arrested during enforcement operations at Poblacion 1, Real, Quezon provinde. According to Sy, Huang is an undocumented alien and poses risk to public safety and security.

He said Huang is a fugitive from justice as per official communication from Jerry Chih-Yung Wang, Police Attaché of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) dated December 6, 2019. A warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect by Taiwan Hualien Prosecutor’s Office for attempted murder in 2004, Sy said, adding that the suspect’s passport has already expired since February 18, 2019 and was never renewed since then.

The Taiwanese will be turned over to the BI jail facility after booking and documentation at the BI main office and upon testing negative for COVID-19 via RT-PCR test.
