Taguig distributes school supplies, school uniforms for students

THE Taguig City Government started to distribute a complete set of school supplies and school uniforms for all its students in public schools in time for the opening of classes on Monday.

Mayor Lino Cayetano said the New Normal Education Package includes a bag, school uniforms, shoes, raincoats, modules, supplies, emergency bags and emergency kit on which they will use in Hybrid Modular Distance Learning modality ng Taguig City.

This initiative of the City Government is to continuously help and support Taguigeño students reach their dreams amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as the City believes that only the best quality of education should be given to students.

Meanwhile, he Department of Education has also approved Taguig as one of the pilot cities in Metro Manila to open with in-person learning once this is allowed in the National Capital Region.

With Taguig recently hitting its 1 million COVID-19 jabs administered, the Department of Education has expressed its confidence in the city’s capacity for in-person learning.

Taguig also continues to have the lowest fatality rate with a 308 or 0.78 percent record against 1.90 percent of NCR as of Sept. 11, 2021.

When classes open this week, the local government will utilize a combination of distance learning methods to deliver quality education to its students depending on the students’ and parents’ preferences.

Public school students, in particular, are categorized into two: Hybrid Modular Distance Learning students and Online learning students. Ninety-five percent of the City’s public school students are under the first category. In comparison, the remaining 5 percent belong to the second category, the pilot class for implementing the Dynamic E-Learning program.

Taguig City assembled a group of expert educators and module writers from different foreign and international schools to create the best quality modules for students under the Hybrid Modular Distance Learning.

For now, online learning students will be using the all-new Taguig Learning Management System (LMS) that will serve as the online portal for students’ academic performance, evaluation results, and assignments.
