A MAN accused of robbing and killing an elderly woman was arrested by elements of the Northern Police District (NPD) Wednesday evening in his hometown in Zambales.

Joint elements of NPD District Special Operation Unit (DSOU), NCRPO-Regional Intelligence Division (RID) and Valenzuela City Police, in coordination with Zambales Police Intelligence Unit, arrested Jonard Manalo, 27, resident of Malabon City, along National Highway, Brgy. San Juan, Castillejos, at around 10 p.m.

DSOU chief P/Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal, in his report to NPD Director P/BGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo, said Manalo was tagged as the No. 19 Most Wanted Person (MWP) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) with an arrest warrant issued by Valenzuela Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Evangeline Mendoza Francisco of Branch 270 dated March 23, 2021 for robbery with homicide with no bail recommended.

Arresting team leader P/Lt. Melito Pabon said Manalo went into hiding after killing an elderly woman, who happened to be the grandmother of a woman he loved, in Valenzuela City.

The incident, according to Pabon, happened in 2020 when Manalo robbed the victim of his belongings while walking along Dona Elena St. Brgy. Punturin.

When the victim resisted, she was stabbed to death by Manalo.
