A 17-YEAR-OLD student died after being mauled and stabbed by a group of teenagers Tuesday evening in Caloocan City.

Grade 10 student Martin Quijano of Camada Compound, Bgy. 12, succumbed to severe contusions and stab wounds in the body while being treated at the Caloocan City Medical Center.

Caloocan City Police Chief P/Col. Samuel Mina said elements of the Station Intelligence Section composed of P/Cpl. Sanny Mark Obligar and Pat. Rudolf Mendoza were able to arrest two of the suspects one was identified as Mark Ace Olacao, 18, of Kalye Bungo, Bgy. Longos, Malabon City, while the other was a 15-year-old Grade 8 student and resident of Kapak Alley, Bgy. 12, Caloocan City, in a follow-up operation.

Report reaching the office of Col. Mina showed that while the victim and his 19-year-old girlfriend Angelica Espineda were walking along Salaysalay St. Bgy. 12 at around 7:30 p.m., more or less ten teenagers blocked their path and started to maul Quijano for a still unknown reason.

Espineda told police that she tried to pacify the suspects, but they continued to take turns mauling her beau until he saw Olacao pull out a kitchen knife and stab her boyfriend repeatedly in the body, prompting her to seek help from their colleagues.

Upon seeing the victim sprawled bloodied on the pavement, the suspects immediately escaped on foot.

Homicide investigators are still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the killing, while a follow-up operation is still ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
