A lawmaker appealed to the public to stop spreading fake news as she assured that Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez is in good health and actively serving the nation.

In response to unfounded rumors circulating online and through other channels, Batangas Rep. Atty. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” R. Luístro strongly calls on the public to refrain from spreading misinformation about the health and status of the House Speaker.

“Speaker Martin Romualdez remains in good health and continues to fulfill his duties as a committed public servant with vigor and dedication. These baseless speculations not only distract from the meaningful work being accomplished in the House of Representatives but also undermine the integrity of our public discourse,” Luístro stated.

Luistro emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing it, particularly in this digital age where falsehoods can spread rapidly.

“As citizens, we have a shared responsibility to combat the spread of fake news. I urge everyone to rely on verified and credible sources of information, especially when discussing matters that concern our nation’s leaders,” she said.

She further noted that Speaker Romualdez continues to lead the House of Representatives in crafting and advancing legislation that addresses the needs of the Filipino people.

“The Speaker’s leadership and steadfast commitment to service have been instrumental in driving progress and unity within Congress. Let us support him and our other public servants by focusing on constructive and truthful dialogue,” she added.

Luístro called on all stakeholders—media, social media platforms, and the public—to be vigilant in ensuring accuracy and accountability in information sharing.

“We must foster a culture of truth and respect in our conversations, both online and offline. Misinformation only sows division and distrust, which our nation cannot afford,” she said.

For official updates and verified information, Luístro encouraged the public to follow legitimate news outlets and official channels of the House of Representatives.
