THE state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Clinic or ASC of the Police Regional Office 11 in Southern Mindanao has been given the nod by the Department of Health to fully operate after satisfying all the agency requirements, the Journal Group learned on Sunday.

According to PRO11 director, Brigadier General Filmore B. Escobal, their ASC located inside their headquarters in Davao City got the DOH accreditation and License to Operate after completing all the agency requirements and tools required for it to operate.

A ‘brainchild’ of Escobal, the ASC has a modern operating room where major and minor operations can be performed by medical specialists of Camp Sergeant Quintin M. Merecido Hospital (CSQMMH).

The Journal Group learned that Escobal, a member of Philippine Military Academy ‘Sambisig’ Class of 1991 initiated the project in order to have a facility where PRO111 personnel and their dependents as well as policemen from nearby regions and other authorized persons can go in case of medical emergency.

“The successful inspection and accreditation of the PNP-PRO 11 ASC marks another milestone in PRO 11’s effort to uplift the morale of its personnel, and by looking after their welfare and well-being as a whole,” the PRO11 director said while adding that the ASC will be open to actively serve its intended beneficiaries.

Under Escobal, the PRO11 had established molecular laboratories and quarantine/isolation facilities for its personnel in Malagos, Calinan District in Davao City.

The full construction of the CSQMMH is expected to be completed next year too. The P131-million hospital with 75-bed capacity was started to be built last October.
