Stars dressed up to scare for Halloween
GLAM, wicked, sexy or ghoulish, local celebrities took the chance to gamely dress up this Halloween in popular characters they once dreamed about to essay, fondly portray or idolized.
They did manage to scare in this spookiest time of the year, where artists made an effort to dress up and look different.
A number of celebrities opted to celebrate Halloween out of the country, as they took the long weekend to recharge and spend some time off away from Manila.
Kris Aquino, who returned to the country only last September after staying in the US for more than two years, where she battled her auto-immune diseases, spent Halloween in Japan with her sons, Josh and Bimby.
It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda spent the short break in Hong Kong, with close friends Bernard Cloma and designer Paul Cabral. Vice decided to paint the town red when she wore the Catwoman costume.
Also in Hong Kong briefly were Zsa Zsa Padilla and her daughter Nicole, while Anne Curtis was with her chef-hubby Erwann Heussaff in Cambodia.
Meanwhile, even in the local front, celebrities did not pass up the chance to dress up in outfits and characters that they once dreamed about.
TV host Raymond Gutierrez attended a party wearing navy blue pajamas, with matching sleeping mask and pillow. He was with long-time friends Solenn Heussaff and Georgina Wilson who looked unrecognizable, as well as actress Carla Humphries.
Miss Universe 2018 title holder Catriona Gray sported a wavy wig and figure-hugging pastel pink, sexy lingerie similar to a Victoria’s Secret model. She completed the angelic look with the brand’s iconic wings.
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee dressed up like Beyonce Knowles and channeled her pop star dreams even only for a day, donning Beyonce’s look in the latter’s recently released album, Cowboy Carter.
Actress Rhian Ramos came out all glammed up and looking like international singing sensation, Taylor Swift.
Rhian honored Taylor by looking like the pop superstar in the latter’s albums through the years.
Cassy Legaspi decided to honor a local character earlier portrayed by Angel Locsin as Alwina in the popular fantasy series, Mulawin.
In a white armor and sword, complimented by a large pair of wings and a feathered head piece, Cassy posed as if she’s ready to fight off the Ravenas.
Meanwhile, young actress Kyline Alcantara went wicked as she dressed up like a mangbabarang or a sorceress who uses black magic to slay their victims.
The young actress apparently exerted efforts to wear a black gown with eye-catching accessories, complete with a skull of a goat as head piece, a fire burning at its tip and a creepy forest as backdrop.
Sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga transformed wicked and resurrected the characters of Elphaba and Galinda in the popular musical that will soon to be seen on the big screen. They re-enacted the poster pose, joined by Toni’s daughter, Polly, dressed as Dorothy.
Chie Filomeno flaunted her sexy body when she dressed up a la Cher wearing the latter’s figure-hugging silver gown, long wig and feather overcoat.
Heartthrob Donny Pangilinan spared his boy-next-door image, turned spooky as he turned up freaky as the monster Frankenstein.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his girlfriend Chloe San Jose opted to scare as Chucky and his bride in the Shake, Rattle and Ball Halloween party.
Showbiz couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera opted instead to host a Halloween dinner in their house minus all the glam and dressing up.
The star-studded event was attended by Kapuso celebrities Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose, Kyline Aguilar and Kobe Paras, Rodjun Cruz and Dianne Medina, with Miguel Tanfelix, Paul Salas and Mikee Quintos.
