St. Benilde, Adamson remain unbeaten

REIGNING NCAA women’s champion College of Saint Benilde and Adamson swept their respective foes to remain unbeaten in the V-League Collegiate Challenge yesterday at the Paco Arena.

Mycah Go produced three service aces for a nine-point outing to go with 12 digs and five receptions as the Lady Blazers improved to 2-0 in Pool B with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-19 romp of fellow NCAA team San Beda.

Rochelle Lalongisip recorded 13 points, including three aces, 10 receptions and eight digs to lead the Lady Falcons to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-22 conquest of San Sebastian to stay perfect in two Pool A matches.

University of the Philippines later joined Benilde on top of the Pool B table at 2-0 following a tough 28-26, 22-25, 25-21, 27-25 victory over University of Santo Tomas.

Jade Gentapa scored all but one of her six points from spikes, while Camill Avila, who entered in the second set, had two blocks to also finish with six points for Benilde.

Antonette Adolfo, who was field in the second set, contributed eight points while Trisha Tubu had two blocks for a seven-point outing for Adamson.

The Tigresses and the Lady Red Spikers dropped to 0-2 in Pool B, while the Lady Stags have lost two in a row in Pool A.
