HOUSE Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez wonders why the New People’s Army (NPA) doesn’t seem to be choosing a place to attack after the series of encounters between the communist rebels and the soldiers in Masbate which happened near school vicinities.

It was learned that a soldier died and five were wounded, including two soldiers, two policemen, and a minor civilian, as a result of the encounters in the province.

Face-to- face classes in Masbate have also been suspended and the children have returned to blended learning because of the incident.

Romualdez reminded the NPA that the United Nations strictly prohibits the use of land mines by any country or armed group that is fighting a government.

Romualdez further asked.
