SANTA ROSA CITY — Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidates made a powerful pitch in one of the country’s most vote-rich provinces, vowing to bring experienced, results-driven leadership to help deliver on President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s remaining three years in office.

“Track record, experience. Dito sa lineup ng Alyansa, walang OJT, walang mag-aaral, walang on-the-job training—garantisado,” former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III told a press conference during a sortie in Laguna province.

Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson gave a lighter yet resonant take on the campaign’s momentum, citing rapper Andrew E., who performs at every Alyansa sortie ahead of the President’s speeches

“Tatak Alyansa? Araw-araw tuwing may rally, narinig namin kay Andrew: ‘para sa kaunlaran,’” Lacson said, drawing laughter and applause from the crowd.

Reelectionist Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino pointed to the recent inspection of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) extension by President Marcos as an example of infrastructure that represents the Alyansa brand.

“‘Yung CALAX mag-uugnay ‘di lang sa Cavite hanggang Laguna kundi papunta na rin ng Metro Manila, may bahagi na rin ng Batangas. Kung naghahanap ka ng Tatak Alyansa, siguro kasama rin ‘yan,” Tolentino said.

The Senate Majority Leader said the Alyansa remains focused on sustaining Laguna’s critical contributions to the national economy—nearly 5 percent of GDP—while also tackling flood control, agricultural preservation, urban planning and tourism development.

The Alyansa ticket is also composed of former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Senator Pia Cayetano, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Imee Marcos, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, ACT-CIS Representative and former Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.

Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager, said the administration slate is composed of individuals selected not for popularity, but for their solid track record in government.

“Napakahalaga po ang track record dahil ito po ang patunay na kaya nilang gampanan ang kanilang katungkulan,” Tiangco said.

He added: “Kung titingnan ang track record ng bawat isa, makikita po natin na sila ang karapat-dapat na makatulong ng ating Pangulo doon sa three remaining years. Kasi dapat mas madami pong flagship projects ang mailunsad, at ito ang mga kandidatong magagawa talaga ’yan.”

With over 2.14 million registered voters, Laguna ranks fourth among the biggest voting province in the country, making it a strategic battleground heading into the May 2025 midterm elections.
