Solon condemns ‘senseless killing’ of Ateneo shooting suspect’s father
BASILAN Representative Mujiv Hataman condemned the senseless killing of Doctor Chao Tiao Yumol’s father in Lamitan, Basilan yesterday morning.
Yumol is the primary suspect in the Ateneo de Manila University shooting that killed former Lamitan Mayor Rosita Furigay and two others.
The crime happened just outside the elder Yumol’s residence in Lamitan City by still unidentified assailants, in broad daylight and in full view of people.
“Nais ko sanang diinan: KAILAN MAN AT SA KAHIT NA ANONG DAHILAN, WALANG SAYSAY ANG PAGKITIL NG BUHAY. Anumang uri ng karahasan ay walang lugar sa ating lipunan kung nais nating umunlad at kumawala mula sa imahe ng kaguluhan sa ating lalawigan,” Hataman said.
The Mindanaoan solon is hoping that this latest act of violence would not progress into a series of violent actions.
