Solon asks elderly to take COVID jab
A LAWMAKER on Thursday called on the public especially senior citizens to participate in COVID-19 vaccination program for their own safety.
Senior Citizen Partylist Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes said he can attest to the safety of the vaccine after getting thejab last May 5.
Ordanes said after more two weeks of being vaccinated, he doesn’t feel any adverse effects.
“Safe at effective po ang lahat ng aprubadong bakuna ng Food and Drug Administration laban sa COVID 19. Anuman po ang brand, ligtas po at epektibo,” Ordanes said.
The solon also appealed to the local governments, including barangay to implement a system for the smooth and fast vaccination for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs).
“Sana mag-house-to-house po kayo para kumbinsihin sila at i-register na ninyo right away para hindi na sila mahirapan,” he said.
He even suggested to use churches as vaccination sites and other public spaces like parks.
“Mahal po tayo ng ating pamahalaan at ang bakunang ito na kaloob sa atin nang libre ay para sa kaligtasan natin. Kaya’t huwag na po tayong magdalawang-loob magpabakuna,” the solon stressed.
