Soldier found unconscious inside camp, dies

A MEMBER of the Philippine Army was declared dead at the hospital after a fellow soldier found him stunned and unconscious on the training ground inside Camp Capinpin in Bgy. Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal the other day.

The Army official identified the fatality as PSG Ryan Importante y Franche, 39, active member of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) assigned at Sitio Galaxy, Bgy. Pinugay in Baras town and a resident of La Esperanza Mulawin, Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro.

At about 11:10 p.m. on January 6, May Ann Importante y Torreliza, wife of the victim, together with SSG Leonardo Montoya y Ambay, 44, an active member of AFP also assigned at Sitio Galaxy, personally appeared at the police station to report and request to log an official blotter pertaining to the untimely death of the victim.

Accordingly, the victim was detailed as Training Model of Infantry Orientation Course Class 01-2021 in the Division Training School (DTS) inside Camp Capinpin.

At about 5:15 a.m. on January 5, the victim was supervising one of their activities held at the vicinity of the DTS water tank.

Pvt. Rayzil B. Acebes who was near the area noticed that the victim was lying on the ground and unconscious with head injuries and yelled for help.

The victim was immediately brought by TSG Larry L Paraiso (MI), PA Course NCO, together with Escuro and Serrano to the Army Station Hospital located inside the camp for medical treatment.

The soldier was later transferred to V. Luna Medical Center in Quezon City due to severe head injuries.

However, at about 9:15 p.m. on January 5 the victim was declared dead by Dr. Gaudy Franz M. Collada.

The victim’s cadaver was brought to St. Peter Funeral in Tanay, Rizal, and will be subjected to an autopsy to determine the real cause of his death.
