Smooth sailing for Angara confirmation as DepEd chief
WITH flying colors former senator Edgardo Angara got the nod of the Commission on Appointments yesterday as the body unanimously approved the nomination of the new Education Secretary.
Angara recently replaced former Vice President Sara Duterte in this post as she officially quit last June 2024 while former Senator Angara officially took his oath last July 19. The education secretary expressed his strong desire to improve the Philippine internet connectivity for the sake of millions of students who are dependent on this new technology.
Senator Raffy Tulfo, who is also the chairperson of the Committee on Education, hailed the excellence of Angara in the academe and in public office.
Tulfo quickly approved the motion to recommend to the plenary the appointment of Angara saying he is the right man for the job.
Majority of his colleagues in the Senate lauded President Marcos Jr., for choosing Angara to hold this important position as they expressed confidence that Angara will lead the change to provide quality education for every Filipino.
Angara is set to undergo the CA plenary deliberations this afternoon for the official confirmation and for his ad interim appointment.
