Singapore to build PH 1st biochar plant in Ecija
Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio M, Umali representing the provincial government and top officials of Singapore firm ALCOM PTE-LTD led by Prateek Tiwari lead the ribbon-cutting for the proposed joint venture project called NuevaChar inside the provincial capitol compound in Palayan City on Monday. The project involves the production of biochar, described as the carbon skeleton of biomass which is derived through the environment-friendly disposal of rice husks and other agricultural by-products using a heating process called pyrolysis. Bataan cops net poll gun ban violator, 4 ‘sabungeros’
BATAAN Police Acting Director Col. Romell Velasco reported the arrest on Sunday of four gamblers of illegal “tupada” (cockfighting) and a gun ban violator. Recovered from the suspects were one live fighting cock and a dead fighting cock, two gaffs (tari), and P1,650 bet money. Meanwhile, poll gun ban violator Alex Ballao, 52, of Bgy. P68M shabu seized in Angeles City raid
MEMBERS of the Angeles City Police on Sunday seized at least 10 kilograms of shabu worth P68 million, drug in a raid in this city. Police said two suspects were arrested, and they refused to be identified, while the third suspect, identified as Brenelyn Urgel, escaped arrest during a raid in Mt. View Subdivision, Bgy.
