MORE than P1.2 million worth of shabu and marijuana as well as a high-powered firearm were seized by police from the leader of a “notorious drug group” in a police buy-bust operation Thursday evening in Navotas City.

Navotas police chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging identified the arrested big-time drug pusher as Rodolfo Reyes, alias ‘Ompong,’ 43, alleged leader of the notorious “Ompong Drug Group” and member of the “Sigue-Sigue Sputnik” gang, with given address at Block 13, Bgy. Longos, Malabon City.

In his report to Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo Jr., Ollaging said elements of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit led by P/Lt. Luis Rufo Jr., as well as operatives of the Station Intelligence Section and Special Weapons and Tactics team, conducted a drug sting operation against Ompong at around 11 p.m. along C-3 Road, Bgy. NBBS Kaunlaran.

The suspect, on board a Honda 125cc motorcycle, handed a medium-size plastic sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P12,000 marked money consisting of P1,000 genuine peso bill and 11 pieces of boodle money that led to his arrest.

Policemen seized from the suspect a total of 10.14 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P68,952, seven large bricks of dried green marijuana leaves, three pieces of large stalk of green dried marijuana leaves all weighing 9,500 grams with standard drug price of P1,140,000, one Ingram X9 shooter with magazine loaded with five 9mm ammunition, a cellular phone, pink notebook, the marked money and a Honda Click motorcycle.

“Hangad namin ang patuloy na kaayusan at matahimik na CAMANAVA at ang kapulisan ng NPD ay gagawin ang makakaya sa pamamagitan ng paglunsad ng serye ng intensibong operasyon para masugpo ang illegal na droga at kriminalidad,” Hidalgo said.
