Shabu courier busted in QC sting
A 32-year-old alleged drug courier was arrested in a buy-bust operation Monday night in Quezon City, police chief Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said yesterday.
Maranan identified the suspect as Eduardo Escartin Jr. of Bgy. Vasra, QC.
The suspect was arrested at the corner of Lucena and Cotabato Streets at around 9:05 p.m. by operatives of Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR).
Informed about the suspect’s illegal activity, authorities immediately designed an entrapment and later arrested the suspect after he handed over 15 grams (shabu) worth P102,000 to a poseur buyer.
“The successful operation highlights our unwavering commitment to rid Quezon City of illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our anti-drug efforts to ensure a safer community for all,” Maranan said.
Meanwhile, Pasig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested one alias Ador, 63, of Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, in a buy-bust early yesterday morning.
Pasig Police chief PCol Hendrix Mangaldan said the suspect was placed under surveillance for weeks on reports that he was selling illegal drugs in the barangay.
