Senate to resume on Jan. 23; Zubiri leads ‘perfect’ attendance

THE Senate will resume its session on Monday, January 23, 2023, after going on a break last December.

In a related development, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri maintained his record of “perfect” attendance, with 39 times being present during the roll call in the Senate.

Along with Zubiri, at least 11 more senators posted perfect attendance, namely Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, Minority Leader Aquilino Koko Pimentel, Deputy Majority Leader Joseph Victor JV Ejercito, Senators Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, Sherwin Garchalian, Christopher “Bong” Go, Risa Hontiveros, Robinhood Padilla, and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

Other senators recorded some days away on an official mission.

Still, they had no other absences otherwise, namely Sen. Edgardo Sonny Angara, (two days on an official mission, Sen. Pia Cayetano (one), Sen. Lito Lapid (two), Sen. Grace Poe (one), and Sen. Francis Tolentino (four).

Sen. Raffy Tulfo recorded one absence, and Sen. Cynthia Villar recorded two.

Sen. Nancy Binay had five absences; Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano had six; Sen. Francis Chiz Escudero had seven, two of which were on an officials mission; Senator Imee Marcos had four, three of which were on an official mission, and Sen. Mark Villar had seven, of which six were on an official mission.
