Sen. Imee to lead PNP food bank launching
SEN. Imee Marcos on Saturday will lead the grand launching of the Philippine National Police Help and Foodbank, which aims at enhancing the support of PNP stakeholders in donating relief goods that can be readily used each time a major calamity hits the country.
PNP chief General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. said that the initiative will provide vital assistance and support to individuals and families in case they are affected by natural calamities.
Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ C. Abalos Jr. will also join the program.
According to Acorda, the event particularly aims to foster a much stronger bond between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
Among the highlights of the event is the oath-taking ceremony for officers and members of the Anti-Crime Coalition for Peace and Progress International (ACCPPI), a people’s coalition organized in partnership with the PNP.
“Let us carry the spirit of togetherness, trust and shared responsibility as we celebrate the Grand PCR Day. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have contributed to making this event possible.
Together, we shall continue our commitment to serve and protect the Filipino people,” Acorda said.
