A capable leader.”

This was how Lakas-CMD president and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez described vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte during the proclamation rally of UniTeam.

Romualdez, one of the campaign managers of Mayor Sara, introduced her to the crowd at the kick-off rally held in The Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Romualdez has expressed belief that Mayor Sara Duterte is the kind of leader that the country needs in 2022 and beyond.

The presidential daughter is the current chairperson of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).

“Tens of thousands have lost their jobs. Our economy suffered its worst blow in modern time. Our people still face uncertainty on what tomorrow may bring for their family and loved ones. At times like these, our people need a leader who will stand as their beacon of hope for the future,” Romualdez noted.

The House leader said Mayor Duterte — whose monicker is “Eagle of Mindanao” — is capable of bringing back the country to its pre-pandemic glory, which it had achieved under the leadership of the latter’s father, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

“Mayor Duterte, like her esteemed father, has all the attributes needed guide us in the future. The teachings of President Duterte, who himself was a former Davao mayor, coupled with her youth and vigor combine to make, in my humble opinion, the perfect leader for a country on the rebound from COVID,” the Leyte House leader stressed.

Mayor Sara is the running mate of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) presidential hopeful Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in the upcoming May 9 elections.

Duterte and Marcos are the current survey frontrunners for vice president and president, respectively.

Members of President Duterte’s vast administration coalition headed by Lakas-CMD have showered the BBM-Sara UniTeam with their support, as evidenced by the messages given by politicians to Mayor Duterte in the course of her “Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas Ride” road campaign.

The ride visited key places in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao where Duterte underscored the importance of patriotism among Filipinos.
