LAKAS-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte urged Filipinos to refrain from “cancel” culture.

In her campaign sortie in Quezon City, Mayor Sara said Filipinos should not allow being cancelled because of their opinions or preferences.

The Davao City Mayor, in jest, told the public to just throw bread to the critics of UniTeam or those engaging in canceled culture.

“Pag binato po kayo ng cancel dahil nangangampanya kayo para sa pula at berde ni Bongbong Marcos at ni Sara Duterte, batuhin nyo sila ng burger ng UniTeam,” Mayor Sara said.

“Huwag po kayong pumayag na kayo ay batuhin ng cancel dahil sa pangangampanya nyo,,” she added.

Mayor Sara visited barangays Payatas and Batasan Hills in Quezon City.

“Canceling” in the age of social media means calling out a person with an element of shame that may or may not be deserved.

The UniTeam is composed of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard bearer, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Duterte.

Duterte would repeat her anti-hate message later in the day in Payatas where she spent a few minutes talking to local residents and graciously taking selfies.

She said those who campaign for the “red and green” of Marcos and Duterte should just throw a “UniTeam burger” at those who seek to cancel them.

Meanwhile, Senatorial candidate Salvador Panelo, who accompanied Mayor Sara in Quezon City sorties, said that only the UniTeam is running on the platform of unity.

Other May 2022 poll aspirants, Panelo said, are more inclined to criticize fellow candidates or dig up dirt about them.
