VICE presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is appealing to all Filipinos for more cooperation and self-discipline amid the rising cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a video message, Mayor Sara reminded the public to take extra precaution to avoid being infected with the virus, especially that the Omicron variant is now dominating the cases.

“Masusugpo po natin COVID-19. Kailangan po natin ang pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, at disiplina para malampasan natin ang pandemya,” the presidential daughter said.

Mayor Sara, who is seeking the vice presidency under the banner of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng pagbabago (HNP), said people should continue observing the minimum heath protocols set by the Department of Health such as proper wearing of face masks, social distancing, proper handwashing, and to avoid mass gatherings to protect oneself and their families.

Staying at home, except for essential reasons, greatly contributes in keeping the households safe and in protecting immunocompromised family members, she also said.

Mayor Sara also called on Filipinos to be protected by getting vaccinated with primary doses and booster shots that are available to the public across the country.

Aside from Metro Manila, 28 other provincial areas have been placed under Alert level 3 due to the surge in COVID-19 infections.
