PHILIPPINE Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, who was implicated in the killing of Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III in 2019, has surrendered to the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG).

This as Cam, who vehemently denied any involvement in Yuson’s death, was ordered arrested, along with six others, by the Manila regional trial court last Tuesday for murder and frustrated murder charges.

Reports have it that Cam is currently in an undisclosed hospital over an unknown ailment, but is under tight police security.

In an order, Branch 42 Judge Dinnah C. Aguila-Topacio ordered the arrest of Cam, her son Marco Martin, Nelson R. Cambaya, Junel R. Gomez, Bradford F. Solis, Juanito B. De Luna, and Rigor M. dela Cruz.

“The Court after examining the information, the Resolution of Department of Justice Panel of Prosecutors, the complaint-affidavit and other supporting documents thereto, finds probable cause to issue a warrant of arrest,” the arrest order reads.

Recently, the DOJ has found probable cause to file murder and frustrated murder charges against Cam and others.

“Prosecutors Josie Dugay and Eugene Yusi issued resolution dated 22 February 2021, indicting Sandra Cam, Marco Martin Cam, Nelson R. Cambaya, Junel Gomez @Bunso, Bradford Solis, Juanito B. De Luna, and Rigor M. Dela Cruz for Murder for the killing of Charlie D. Yuson III and Frustrated Murder for the wounding of Alberto Y. Alforte IV, ” the Office of the Prosecutor General said in a message sent to reporters.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed a complaint for murder and frustrated murder against Cam and several others before the DOJ.

Yuson was shot dead while having breakfast with Wilfredo Pineda and Alberto Alforte in Sampaloc, Manila on Oct. 10, 2019.
