San Pedro-AMB, Divertex prevail

SAN Pedro City-AMB overwhelmed Cabuyao City- DenHa Tigers, 138-66, to register its sixth win in seven outings for and gain a share of second place with Biñan City-Vice Gel behind Calamba City – Alta CalamBAGO in the 2022 National Basketball League (NBL) Inter-City Basketball Championship at the National University Inspire Sports Academy at Calamba City Laguna.

San Pedro- AMB relied on the hot hands of Jesus Manay, Ryan Pulon and Rachel Sablaon in crushing Cabuyao-DenHa in this nine-team tournament organized by BAP Region 4 Head Leonardo “Ding” Andres.

Manay, who was named “Best Player of the Game”, finished with a game-high 35 points.

Pulon added 30 points, including eight three pointers, and Sablaon contributed 23 points for the AMB-supported San Pedro City of coach Aaron Mendoza and assistant coach Jovyl Karamihan.

Seraj Elmejerab and Wendell Atas added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for San Pedro, which is being supported by Cong. Ma. Rene Ann Lourdes G. Matibag and Atty. Melvin A. Matibag.

Sean De Luna paced Cabuyao-DenHa with 18 markers.

In the other game, Nasugbu Batangas-Divertex Sports downed Sto Tomas City-Mr.Cow, 95-76, for its third win in seven matches to keep its hope alive for the last semifinals slot.

Nasugbu drew big games from John Lester Gomez, Dan Lord Magpantay, Edward Villanueva in defeating Sto Tomas City, Batangas.

Gomez exploded with 35 points, Magpantay had 19 points and Villanueva had 12 points for Nasugbu-Divertex of coach Florencio Lana, assistant coach Robert John Bosque, manager Leonilo Calingasan and team owner Vince B. Ochave.

Gio Lopez finished with 24 points while Aries Pecana contributed 15 points for Sto Tomas City-Mr. Cow of coach Raymond Cortuna and owner Arthur Pecana.

Romulo Raytos is the tournament commissioner while Marcial Macapanton and Joenald Pacquiao head the technical committee. AA
