CAMERON Clark erupted for 40 points to power No. 2 seed San Miguel Beer to an inspiring 121-105 victory over Converge and the semifinals in the PBA Governors; Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Clark fired 16 points in the third quarter alone and finished with 16-of-26 shooting in 43 minutes of action for San Miguel, which will meet sister team Barangay Ginebra in the semis.

The 6-7 forward from Poenix, Arizona also had 13 rebounds, three assits and one block. for the Beermen of coach Jorge Gallent.

CJ Perez finsihed with a double-double performance of 26 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Vic Manuel tallied 20 points on 9-of-9 shooting from the field and four rebounds as he stepped up in the absence of to six-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo due to the injury he suffered in the EASL.

Another player, Jericho Cruz, also contributed in double figures with 12 points.

New import Thomas Vodanovich led Converge with 39 points on 14-of-28 shooting and 10 rebounds in 45 minutes of action.

Maverick Ahanmisi added 18 points for coach Aldin Ayo, followed by Justine Arana with 14 and Alec Stockton with 12.

Gallent said San Miguel came prepared for Vodanovich.

“We just watched his last film, when he played about a month ago. That was the only basis that we could scout him,” Gallent told PBA. com.

“We knew he was very aggressive and a good three-point shooter so we prepared for that defensively.”
