San Beda lass in big win

SAN BEDA’s Princess Angel Doria topped a heavy nine-woman field in the bantamweight division of the NCAA taekwondo speed kicking competition yesterday.

Tallying 6.700 points, Doria, a native of Pangasinan, bested Letran’s Adessa Grace del Castillo, who settled for a silver with 6.642 points.

College of Saint Benilde’s Melissa Maxine Arsenal captured the bronze with 6.317 points.

Doria’s victory allowed the Red Jins to seize the women’s overall lead in the medal tally with a 1-1-1 (gold-silver-bronze) haul.

The Blazers are running second with one gold and one bronze medal to show.

Jose Rizal University sits in third spot with a gold medal.

San Beda’s Lara Alejandrea Andres and Arellano University’s Khrystal Marie Mauro (AU) finished tied in fourth place with 6.067 points.

Other participants were Lyceum of the Philippines University’s Marinela de Peralta (6.033), Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Dannise Nicole Buan (5.833), Arellano’s Alexandra Nesle (5.817) and JRU’s Shyenler Emelo Cedo (5.483).
