‘Salvage victim’ found in sugarcane plantation
THE BODY of a suspected salvage victim was found by village watchmen lying in the middle of a sugarcane plantation Monday in Calaca, Batangas.
Calaca town police investigators SSg. Marlou A. Diomampo and Cpl. Raphaelito P. Macalindong said the victim is more-or-less 35 years of age, 5’4 in height and clad in black shirt with six-pocket shorts.
The incident was reported by Barangay Madalunot Captain Virgilio Manalo to local police.
Initial investigation showed watchmen Salvador Hernandez and Victor De Villa were traversing a road in Sitio Cahigpitan, Barangay Madalunot at 1:30 p.m. when they spotted the body.
The victim’s face was covered in duct tape and a piece of cloth was stuffed inside his mouth. His hands hands and feet were bound in duct tape. He had several gunshot wounds in the face.
