Salibio Group ‘member’ arrested in Malabon

A SUSPECTED member of criminal group involved in a series of robbery-holdups in the northern part of Metro Manila was arrested by police inside a public market Wednesday evening in Malabon City.

Malabon Police Chief P/Col. Amante Daro said joint elements of Station Intelligence Section (SIS) led by P/Lt. Richel Sinel and Police Sub-Station-6 under the supervision of P/Maj. Carlos Cosme, Jr. arrested Alfredo Almario, Jr. 50, tagged as member of notorious “Salibio Criminal Group” inside Malabon Public Market located along F. Sevilla St. Barangay Tañong at around 11:45 p.m.

Col. Daro said that earlier, personnel of SIS received information from Barangay Information Network (BIN) regarding the presence of one of the members of Salibio Criminal Group while raoming inside the public market with a gun tucked on his waist.

Lt. Sinel immediately coordinated with Lt Benedicto Zafra, Deputy Commander of Police Sub-Station 6 for the conduct of police operation.

During the operation, operatives approached the suspect when they noticed had a gun tucked on his right waist. Almario was arrested when he failed to present documents for gun possession.

When frisked, police seized from the suspect a caliber .38 revolver loaded with five live ammunition and an MK2 hand grenade placed on his black belt bag.

Col. Daro said the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of R.A 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions and RA 9516 or the Unlawful Possession of Explosives.
